Since _sharvie_ tagged me I guess I should answer these questions.
1. Total Number of Books I've Owned: Okay, I can't answer this. My closet has about three big plastic storage bins filled with paperbacks, hardcovers, text books etc. I have stuff ranging from a book on Einstein's opinions and ideas to the Vampire chronicles by Anne Rice. Yep, I have a wide range of tastes.
2. Last Book I Bought: Dead Beat by Jim Butcher. I actually forgot this came out a couple weeks ago, and just got it.
3. Last Book I Read: The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories by Tim Burton. I actually bought this in London while browsing in a book store that I had entered in search of a bathroom. If you love Tim Burton's movies or drawings, you will love the stories in this.
4. Five Books that Mean a Lot to Me:
I don't remember the exact title. It's a book written by Einstein explaining his theory of relativity. I read this along with Stephen Hawkins Brief History of Time. Mainly because, Einstein would take several readings of a chapter to understand, while Hawkins explained things better. The two books go well together. They mean something to me because I have always loved physics and astronomy. If things didn't work with art, I was going to go into science.
Dracula by Bram Stoker. Of course, I have always loved the lore of vampires since I was a child and Dracula is the ultimate vampire novel. I'm still waiting for Hollywood to make a movie that is worthy of the book. Obviously, I'm not holding my breath.
Romeo e Giulietta (Romeo and Juliet in Italian) by Shakespeare. I haven't actually read it in Italian, since I can't read Italian. But I bought this copy in a small book store while I was in Verona and kept the receipt as proof of the city. It is, in my opinion, a unique souvenir from my tour of Italy.
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu. Just because it is philosophy and makes you think or go "aha" I didn't think of that in that way. Very interesting stuff.
