Internship Interview
Sep. 5th, 2007 03:34 pmI have to give a big hug to my f-list. All your crossing fingers and hope for my Dreamworks interview meant a lot to me. I'll reply to your comments later tonight but I have to run back to school to work on my experimental short.
I don't think the interview went well. They didn't ask me any questions really. None of the usual, tell me about yourself, where do you see yourself in 10 years, or further explanations on my work experience. It was weird. First they said they were really impressed with my resume and had spent some time going over it. So that might explain them not asking for work experience clarification. One thing in my favor is that the story supervisor worked with my teacher on his first film at Dreamworks. Another thing in my favor is that all of my classes are in the evening so I have an open schedule for them. They explained in great detail what the intern duties would be, all the while saying I should be able to handle the duties fine due to my experience. I tried to ask questions here and there, but they were so detailed they covered everything. Then all they asked me was what part of the animation field did I want to get into and what I wanted to get out of the internship. I just get the impression that the other two gentleman whom I would mostly be working with weren't too keen on me. As the Supervisor was leading me out I tried to redeem the interview by commenting on the visual development artwork they had on the walls and saying I had looked up the story of the film, which is based on the children's story How to Train Your Dragon. That showed initiative. : ) But I don't know. I've never been to an interview where they didn't ask me anything. They're supposed to be making a decision by the end of the week. So I should find out soon one way or the other.
Is it Friday yet?
