First week

It's been a crazy week. Working the first week rush at the textbook store and starting at my internship at WB Animation. But, I'm almost done with my 46 hours work week. I'm at work right now, but after 4pm I'm free. And hopefully there will be some rain for me to see. It could be raining now, but being stuck in the basement store, I can't tell. Just wanted to report in and say how the internship is. My first day was good, except for the security guards not letting me back on the lot to park after lunch. Apparently the parking pass I had expired and no one thought to set me up with a parking decal. But my supervisor the Project Manager on the show fixed me up. I also had the copier act weird on me. I was photocopying storyboards which are legal size and it keep printing it on 11X17 paper and when I forced it to do legal it would cut off some of the boards. The PM helped me again and we tried a different paper tray and all worked out. Ah the adventures of first day. I had a paper jam on that same copier on Thursday. It's a huge machine and you have to open up every compartment before the thing will start up again. It took about 10 minutes to clear the jam. But the internship is neat. My bosses are nice. One of the Assistant PMs, there are two, seems willing to show me other stuff and teach me about production. It's just that she's busy doing her job so it's finding that middle ground to train me but keep on top of her work too. But she had me break down an old script just to get a feel for it and had me help her find stock characters and props in their database software for the episode she was getting ready to ship out. All in all it will be a good experience. I did have to laugh at how the corporate didn't really talk with the show people. Cause when I was hired the recruiter asked what three consecutive days I wanted to work. I asked what days worked best for the show. He went it's what days I want. So I went Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. My first day I find out that they ship the show on Monday and they would really need me then. The PM asked the APMS and they further went that Monday Wednesday Friday would be the best days. So much for the days having to be consecutive, which is what the recruiter kept telling me. LOL.
