I got a very interesting email from Disney Talent Development for their Animation Training Program. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high only to get rejected again. I'm still in a mope over Dreamworks and Pixar and I expected those rejections too. But the email does have me wondering if I perhaps made it to the final round of portfolios at Disney, and if that's the case that's quite an accomplishment. But who knows what the email means.
Basically the email, which looks to be a mass email as no to email address(es) were listed, said we received your portfolio (that was sent a month ago by the way when the deadline was) and they "are now in the final process of reviewing" and they wanted to make sure I was still interested in the "possible" opportunity that would start in September. I'll apparently hear from them no later than May 30th. The email was from the Director of the Talent Development so I replied back thanking her for the update and telling her I was still interested and so forth.
Could very well just be a mass email to simply say we got it and we'll contact you later. I just like thinking that it means I made it past the first round. But they could have very well sent this out to every single person that applied which could be hundreds of people. Maybe even a whole lot more since it is Disney. That could explain why it took so long to send the email out. They had a lot of email addresses to input in their system. :)
At the very least I now know when I'll hear from them. So everyone cross what you can until May 30th and then I'll tell you all the good or bad news. Again, I'm really trying to not get my hopes up cause Disney would be a dream come true. I mean literally a childhood dream come true. So yeah, I'm trying to be realistic here. Probably just a mass email and doesn't mean anything. But maybe.
