Here's the rest of it.....
So that's the full report or as full as I can remember and write. It was wonderful hanging out with
jaesha
mad_brilliant_
ghostgirl13 and
lightdependent, and P although she's not on LJ. Same with K and M. And I'm very glad to have met
sandy_s, it's always great gaining new friends at these events. To anyone else I may have met but don't know your screen name, it was nice meeting you too, hopefully we'll meet again at the next event.
Saturday:9/1/07
I decided to have James and Juliet sign my drawing this day.
I bugged many people, my roommates and anyone who entered our hotel room about what they thought about the drawing. I was very unsatisfied with it but who knew when I would get another chance to have the two of them sign a drawing at one event. We got up before 10am since the autos wouldn’t start any earlier then that. It was probably closer to 11am when we made our way down to the walk of fame. I went to Juliet first while
jaesha
mad_brilliant_and
ghostgirl13 went in James’ line. But then
ghostgirl13 changed her mind and joined me at Juliet’s line. She wanted to see what she said. Juliet was delighted with the drawing, saying I captured them well or James said that and she said I was very talented. My memory is failing me. I do remember her expression was impressed and she joked about the pressure being on her to write neatly and not mess up her signature. After she signed it she set it aside and stared at it for a bit before handing it back. That helped boost my confidence a bit.
ghostgirl13 and I got in line for James. I paid Steve for the auto and handed over the drawing asking if they had a black sharpie. He said yes but did nothing more. He did look at the drawing and asked if I did it. I said yes and he went it was very good. I thanked him and was a bit shocked that I got a compliment out of him. He usually never says anything. Strange. I asked the lady sitting next to James if she had a black sharpie and she pulled one out and placed it on the drawing. I was glad for that cause I know James will often sign first before really looking when he’s on auto pilot, so at least he would see the sharpie first and know to sign with it. When he saw it he was impressed too and I do think he was the one that said I captured them well. As he was signing he looked up at me with a very concerned expression
asking me “Did I know you drew?” Almost like he was upset over forgetting such a thing. *awww…pets James * I told him no he didn’t really know. I told him that I gave him a drawing a long time ago but it was a really long time ago, way in the beginning. No way he would remember. And then we cracked up over something. Either something he said or
ghostgirl13 said, possibly over the way long time ago comment. I should have said it was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. *lol*
Photos taken by the talented
mad_brilliant_
Overall I was nervous as hell having them sign something I made myself, but I’m glad I did. It was nice to see their reactions. We then went up to the room to drop off our auto stuff.
mad_brilliant_ left for the Q&A line since she wasn’t getting any photos. The rest of us got some lunch before the photos. I got a Juliet solo and she commented on my shoes again, same shoes as the day before. We went to shake hands after the photo and we missed. It reminded a bit of my Alexis photo, I was so flustered I missed his hands so we took the photo and after he went let’s try that again and we shook hands. So Juliet flustered me too, after all she is very pretty. :) I got back in line with
ghostgirl13 and
jaesha for the James pic. Froggy was having issues with his flash and poor
ghostgirl13 had to stay in a huggy pose with James for several minutes. Of course it was after she thought she lost something so I don’t think her heart was in it. When it was my turn James held out his hand saying it nice to meet yo,,,,,,,*blinked*….I mean see you again. I started laughing and he went I’m sorry. I told him not to worry about it it’s okay. It was comical to see the expression on his face when he went wait a minute she’s not new, and then switched greetings. Only sad thing was I didn’t get a hug because of it. *pouts * Oh well, it was a funny moment. We then headed over to the Q&A line, which wrapped around the Hyatt.
ghostgirl13 stopped earlier in the line with
sandy_s while
jaesha and I went to the end. When we got into the room we saw
ghostgirl13 waving over to us, she was saving seats. But the line Nazis were trying to force people to sit where they told them. They were making people go all the way down a row and fill every seat that way. When I saw
ghostgirl13, I immediately went in her direction while a lady yelled after me saying ma’am, ma’am. But I ignored her and got my seat. We were very far back so most of my pics were sh*t, but all well, I figured we would have horrible seats because the photos were right before the Q&A. This Q&A wasn’t as good as Friday, mainly because of repeat questions and it did turn a little more into a James and Juliet Q&A while Elizabeth and Ken were out of the loop a bit. Not that I had any problem with it being a James and Juliet Q&A, I just always feel bad for the other actors that are slightly ignored.
After the Q&A we found a cab outside the hotel and headed over to the concert venue. Except for those who didn’t go to the Q&A, which ended up being only about 4 people, we beat the rest to the venue. Fast cab.
jaesha and I went on a caffeine run only to find all the restaurants a block away were closed except for a Starbucks which would have worked it I drank coffee. But I got a least some sugar in lieu of caffeine, a rice krispy treat and chocolate milk. Behind me in the concert line was a Mother and her 12-year-old daughter, who decided she hated us since we had met James in person. She was a funny kid. The mother was a big fan too. She had just come for the concert; she couldn’t get time off for the whole weekend. They asked if he would do autos after the concert. I told them probably not, but they could try it if they could figure out where the stage door to the venue was. I said her daughter might be able to get an auto since she was a kid. I wonder if they tried after the concert or not. I did tell her about the LA gig, and she seemed interested. She’s a flight attendant so flying to LA wouldn’t be a hard thing for her. During the concert I got a smile from James or the smile was for the 12 year old two seats over. Since she’s not here, I’ll take it as my own. :) James was great during the concert; he even flubbed up a couple guitar parts but went straight through and got back on track like nothing happened. He had a different guitar I believed he called Crystal. The pretty sunburst Gibson he had got badly injured coming back from Wales. So he had the blue Crystal and apparently she was injured too. He said the maid staff at the hotel smashed the headstock and tuning gears into the wall. Poor guitar. He was afraid she wouldn’t hold a tune, but she did well. He even gave her a kiss since she was doing so well. :)
After the concert was the charity auction. They raised a great amount of money. Everything was out of my price range though. I would have loved to have bought the set list but I couldn’t afford it. When that was done
ghostgirl13,
jaesha,
mad_brilliant_ and I grabbed a cab back that took us the long way back to the hotel, nice, and then we went to the sports bar grill at the Marriott to have a late dinner. Our waitress was not a happy camper. Don’t know if she just hated her job or was sick of the Dragon Con people. But the food and beer was good. And we had many a good laugh as usual. Later in the night Froggy came by our table and talked with us for a while. We told him we were surprised to see him at the concert. He had bid on the auction but stopped because people were looking at him like he was purposely raising the bids. But he went there to donate to the charity and he said he gave James the cash after the auction as a straight donation. He told us that James beat out the Rolling Stones in how much money he got for the set list. I guess he was working as a photographer at some charity event and the Stones’ set list went for less than James’. * go James * He then said he had to go, his dinner party was here. We looked over to where he was pointing to see Steve Himber and the crew getting a table. We just stared at each other and started giggling. Or at least I started giggling since the alcohol was making me tipsy. Why I was giggling, I have no clue. We finally left the grill/bar and headed back up to our rooms. We stayed up a few more hours before finally falling asleep.
I decided to have James and Juliet sign my drawing this day.

Sunday 9/2/07
Sunday morning
jaesha and I went to pick up our photos from the day before. My Juliet was blurred so I asked for a re-shoot. We got a call from
ghostgirl13 saying there was a line for the Q&A so to get over there quickly. On my way to the line, ravenu told me that Juliet wasn’t going to be at the Q&A. I wasn’t too surprised. I figured she probably wouldn’t want to do two Q&As in one day. When I told the gals they wondered if that meant we would get a solo Q&A. I doubted it. After the Track made a huge deal out of how impossible and rude it would be to not have Juliet at the Q&A, there was no way they would give us the solo Q&A. So even though Elizabeth wasn’t supposed to be at the Sunday Q&A, she and Ken were there. It was an okay Q&A. Not fantastic, but not horrible. Without Juliet there the questions were heavily sided to James. But no one was completely ignored. So no extreme awkwardness. After the Q&A were the photo ops again. I got my Juliet re-shoot, and she was gracious as always. No comments on my shoes, but I was wearing my more comfy travel sneakers since I was catching a plane later that day. We got a group photo with James to commemorate the quarter game at the Friday Party. It went quickly and who knows if James even knew why he was taking a picture with a quarter and a five-dollar bill. (long story) After the photo was food, yum and then the last autos of the day. I had him sign the Superman Doomsday mini hologram poster I got at Comic Con. It already had signatures from the production people that were at Comic Con. I told James that he got more cheers than Adam at the screening. He went oh no, I hope Adam wasn’t there. I told him he wasn’t. He went on to say that Adam is a wonderful person despite his politics. I agreed with him on the wonderful person thing. I’ve never spoken politics with Adam so no opinion on that although I believe he is a conservative. After the auto I just sat around while
ghostgirl13 and
jaesha went to see if the photos were done yet. I hung out with
lightdependent and P until they came back. We all just sat around watching James sign and watching the costumes go by. There was a Lego Man, he was so cool.
lightdependent and P got their autos and then
jaesha and
mad_brilliant_ said their goodbyes. They had to catch their flight.
ghostgirl13 left to check on the photos again. While
lightdependent, P and I continued our people watching. There was an Angel look alike that was spot on. He even had the Angel smirk. He was in line for James and we waited patiently to see James’ reaction to him. We weren’t disappointed. James was floored by the guy. It was fun to watch.
ghostgirl13 came back to say the photos wouldn’t be done until tomorrow probably. She also came baring the news that James was doing photos and autos on Monday as well. Apparently Froggy said that if she wanted the photo op signed she could give him the money and he would get it signed, if she wanted it personalized he would get it personalized. We almost went for it to see if he could really get the personalization, but we had no more cash at that point. It was then time for me to leave. So I said my goodbyes and left for the airport.

Monday 9/3/07: The half marathon
The main reason why I didn’t stay at Dragon Con until Monday was because I had a ½ marathon to run/walk in Anaheim. I arrived back in LA around 11pm Sunday night and headed over to Anaheim to meet up with my sister at the hotel. We got a few hours sleep before leaving the hotel at 4am to get to the race area. It was the Disneyland ½ marathon. It started at 6am. While in Atlanta I didn’t know that So Cal was suffering from a heat wave. At 4am it was already in the high 80s. We were racing under a red flag heat index. So not fun. I didn’t even attempt to run at all during the race. I just walked it. It was way too hot to run. The race went through California Adventure and Disneyland, which was nice because you could feel the air conditioning coming from the attractions. It was cooling. Then the race went through parts of Anaheim, which was the worst, because you’re racing on the road, asphalt, which radiates heat like crazy. It was miserable. Around mile 10 the race went through Angels Stadium. It was fun to walk around the baseball field. Between mile 11 and 12, there was the reenactment of night of the living dead. It was shortly after the mile 11 water stop, so there were cups littering the street like a post apocalyptic scene. There were no spectators cheering you on and all the race participants were limping along weaving in and out of a straight line because we were almost delirious with the heat at that point. Finally after mile 12 you could see the Disneyland Parks in the distance and knew the end was near. They had your name on the race bib so as I was making the last track through Downtown Disney to the finish line everyone was shouting good job Angela, you’re almost done. Keep it up. It’s funny after almost 13 miles you can become so emotional and want to cry in joy that complete strangers are urging you on to the finish. It must have something to do with the physical strain because I remember getting very emotional during the full marathon I did many years ago. It was really cool though. During the race I bumped into two friends that I hadn’t seen in probably four years. They do a lot of races and it was wonderful to see them again. L gave me her goo when she saw me struggling to keep going and A gave me a great big hug when I crossed the finish line long after them. After the race I went with my sister and her kids to the California Adventure. Hadn’t been there in years and it was fun to ride my favorite rides. The 100-degree weather was not fun, but we survived. I left them early and they headed on to Disneyland while I went home. I had homework to work on. Unfortunately, when I got home and turned on the AC, about a half hour later all the power went out. With nothing to do and being exhausted I went to bed early. But the power was still off when I awoke the next day. Apparently the power grid couldn’t handle the overload and it would be 24-48 hours before the power would be back. Luckily it was back on later that night. So that’s my Dragon Con weekend.
